A Portrait of Monasterevin.
Introducing an exciting two morning workshop, each two hours in duration. Hosted by Artist Gill Berry, the workshops will introduce you to the excitement of leisure painting in the medium of oil paint. You are asked to bring your favorite photographs of Monasterevin, as a source of inspiration for your painting. All the art materials are supplied by the Festival Organisers and you get to take your work of art home.
Your tutor, Gill Berry owns “Downalong” Art Studios, near the National Stud in Kildare. She runs Art Classes for both children and adults in an athmosphere idyllic for the creative individual. This is an opportunity for you to experience her unique teaching methods.

Creative Writing Workshop
Our festival writer in residence Pat Boran has been conducting creative writing workshops throughout Ireland for some many years, and his writers’ handbook, The Portable Creative Writing Workshop, is widely used by writing groups in Ireland and abroad. This Festival Workshop taking place over two days, will offer participants practical approaches to getting raw material down on paper and with how to go about revising and editing it later. Participants need no previous writing or publishing experience but would be advised to feed the cat before leaving the house in case the writing bug spirits them away.
Booking details will be advised from 1st May 2010 onwards
